These guys have my respect.
In 日本, university students are going on a hunger strike to protest the bill that will send japan to war. I want to shake the hands of every one of them.

RE: These guys have my respect.
I agree, it's a worthy cause. But they hired doctors to make sure they don't get too hungry......

It kinda defeats the purpose of a hunger strike if you ask me. I'd shake their hands, but no high fives. Rolleyes

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

The method, the cause or both?

Probably a lost cause, but I applaud them. BTW, a healthy person can generally go a month without food before suffering serious medical problems, as long as they drink water. It requires a great deal of self control, however, and is not at all easy.

Sadly, I do agree it is most likely a lost cause, because:

A. the prime minister sucks, he is the Japanese George Bush jr.

B. It is only 4 people.

Both. It's not a protest it's a tantrum. They're not really going on hunger strike because they have a doctor to make sure they don't harm themselves and there's only 4 of them. It sounds like the majority want this and being a democracy, and a 1st world country, it should happen.

I'm not against protest. If you don't like something, sure, protest, but to go on "hunger strike" ehhhh fuck off.

I thought Japan was this holy land of purity and all things good? thus why you want to move there.

Japan never was and never will be a holy land. I think that thought ruins it.
