If an omnipotent god existed, there's no reason for us to eat or drink, we could simply breathe the breath of life furnished from god.

Human sexual reproduction would be unnecessary, we would see humans and animals popping out of the ground.

The Earth would be the center of the universe.

The universe would only be as large as the firmament.

There would be no atheists, because his existence would be undeniable.

Sry for double post.

Water vapor didn't refract light before the flood?
You wouldn't have any evidence to back that up by chance?

You can lead a theist to reason, but, you cannot make him think.

It's in the Bible. Checkmate, atheists! Angry

No stupider than that absurd bible shit.

Well, the bible does say that the earth is a flat circular disk surmounted by a crystals done called the firmament that holds out the waters of heaven.

So the earth isn't round, satellites and the moon landings are hoaxes, and all of NASA and most of the aerospace engineers in the world are actively out to deceive us.

Diseases aren't caused by germs, and can be cured by ritual blood sacrifices.

So, this god person gets pissed because they built a tower that cannot conceivably be even a thousand feet tall, but he himself builds walk-up mountains that are 14,000 feet high, and other mountains that can be climbed by expert teams that are as much as 29,029 feet high.

If the Bible is true, mountains cannot exist.

They arose after the flood. See above. Yes

Doesn't matter. God got pissed because people built a tower that, if completed, might have reached a few hundred feet high. If that's true, he wouldn't have built mountains several miles high. Doesn't matter if he built the mountains later. Tall mountains would not exist if God didn't want people climbing a few hundred feet up.

The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

God does not want us climbing mountains.

A man once climbed a mountain and found diamonds at the top, enough to make him enormously wealthy. He chose the largest one but God punished him. On the way down the mountain God turned the diamond to water.

... I thought there's a whole laundry list. Problem of Evil for one - only a problem for they what think God's up there.

Oh wait I see what you mean - directly observable things. Well... Bible deals with wishy washy imprecise subjective things like 'sin' - pissing off their stupid God... is hard to argue stuff about that because not well defined.

Hmm...

There's the whole creation story. If the Bible account is literally true, a whole bunch of geology and biology and a lot of other sciences are wrong, but there's too much evidence that the geologists et al. are right, and so that leaves us with a choice of cognitive dissonance or discarding stupid old books.

A lot of the OT deals with single prophets doing bizarre things and ranting about how fucking angry God is. Hard to find factual thing to argue with statements like "God is sooooo mad"...

I've never heard this before but I already love it.

"Yeah, there's, like, totally diamonds up there! Look, here's the proof - ok, I know it's water now..."

Spending your life waiting for the messiah to come and save the world is like waiting around for the straight piece to come in Tetris. Even if it comes, by that time you've accumulated a mountain of shit so high that you're fucked no matter what you do.
