This explains everything..
So it turns out that the reason god is nicer in the New Testament than in the Old is because he had a son. And as usual we tent to calm down when we have children.
This is what I was told anyway.
What do you say to that? Where do you even begin?
I said nothing. I just walked away.
Man. I tell ya, there people are fucking nuts...

God is nicer in the new testament because it covers less time than the old. His killing rate is still pretty much the same.

“You see… sometimes life gives you lemons. And when that happens… you need to find some spell that makes lemons explode, because lemons are terrible. I only ate them once and I can say with certainty they are the worst fruit. If life gave me lemons, I would view it as nothing short of a declaration of war."

Nuts indeed. According to the myth, that "nicer" god took his son and threw him (well really himself) under the bus, subjecting him to torture and death for sins that he never committed. So much for calming down. Dodgy

@DonaldTrump, Patriotism is not honoring your flag no matter what your country/leader does. It's doing whatever it takes to make your country the best it can be as long as its not violent.

He is nicer because the NT was compiled from cheery picked stories .
It seems C*nts were out of vogue by 300AD

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

The NT definitely does seem like the cherrypickers wetdream.

What's so nice about eternal punishment for a finite thought crime?

At least in the OT, when god killed people, they stayed dead.

In the NT, he invents hell and punishes people for eternity for the crime of not being gullible.

I'd think having a son would make him be more of a jerk.

Like, "Dammit, that kid has been crying for ten nights straight! I'm so ticked I'm going to kill the first thousand people I see, just for cathartics!". Or, maybe God steps on one of Jesus' LEGO bricks in the middle of the night and just starts screaming curses all over the place.

That's about the most painful thing in existence...

You said pretty much exactly what I was going to say.
