Make it a Sonic or an iHOP and I just might go to church again.

Popcorn I put more thought into fiction than theists put into reality.

I think they are fail. Their manifesto says it right there - *McDonalds* brings communities together - not God, not church. They want to partner with McDonalds to borrow their attractiveness.

IMO they've just admitted that their God is not all powerful. I mean, if he *is* all powerful, then clearly people leaving the church is his plan and who the fuck are they to monkey with it? Only if he can't pull off the marketing spin of a McDonalds does what they're proposing make sense, and if he's that puny why bother with worship?

I wonder if there is a McNugget of truth in this story

Never could have imagined this, tbh.

I couldn’t get myself to hit the play button. Is this a parody? Or just a transparent way of trying to get $1M?

The sad thing is people will give money to this “project” Weeping

Somehow I don't even think even McDonald's is okay with this.

Mega churches are a different beast. They actually got room for these things, are they gonna build an extension to an existing church just for McDonald's or are they gonna cut down on pew space? The hole idea is ridicules either way. I want to see if they actually spoken to McDonald's about all this.

These are desperate measures...

Eternal bliss in paradise is clearly not a good enough reason to spend Sunday numbing your arse cheeks on a church pew.

Gotta have burger and chips too....

I have to say it but ... only in America.

McDonald's though. Not the best choice. They stink and the idea of going into them makes many people queasy once they learn what proper food is.

Not sure what McDonald's make of it. It could lead to all churches being taxed in the future if the McDonalds was so much a part of the church that the IRS had to create a new tax class for such a venture. It's then easy to widen such a class to include more religious bodies (e.g. mega-churches with Starbucks, TV-evangelism and eventually all churches which don't give to charity etc).

This idea sounds more Chinese than American to me Wink

... or simply pentacostal: http://www.christianitytoday.com/gleanin...esses.html

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.
