Thread Vandalism
I was going through a couple of old threads as one does... I noticed that ChildEye has removed a lot of his posts e.g. from this thread. There are a few other users who've done the same that I've noticed from time to time. I thought our rule was that once you've said it, it stays ? Can we reinstate the rule that we used to have, that you can't edit a post after a certain amount of time has passed ? Just a thought...

Unfortunately, we can't prevent edit abuse initially.

Once a person abuses their editing privileges, they are removed indefinitely.

So, in order to prevent people from vandalizing, they have to do it first... Catch 22.

So can we ban DLJ now ? Pretty please Thumbsup

When I first signed up there was a timer - after 3 days you couldn't edit your posts any more...

I preferred it that way myself. Unfortunately, I don't suspect our preference coincides with the forum in general.

Jesus, you just had to bring up that thread. I'm pretty sure I made a drunken ass out of myself somewhere in the middle of it. Now I'm gonna have to go back and edit all of those posts.... Dodgy

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

We did have some discussion on this not too long ago.

I really think that a time limit of not less than 1 day, not more than 3 days is desirable.

Going back and deleting older content is vandalism, pure and simple.

I'm not sure what you mean. We can certainly limit it.

RE: Thread Vandalism
Yeah a 3 day limit makes sense...I edit my posts like a million times right after I make 'em but only correct grammar and generally smooth out my diction.
