RE: Thread presentation
Dear Chas,
I'm sure both modes are equally useless right now, because no matter what, I have serious trouble to find the threads I've posted in. The old search functionality allowed that. Other decent forums can do that with a single click, to sort the threads I've posted in by time and see if there are any new posts in them. Now I can't. I have already complained about it, but I can't find the thread where it was.

I appreciate your good work (lies, lies) but it is a little misguided right now. (to put it mildly) The backtracking search functionality should be the top priority.
If you have something to reply, please do so through personal message. I probably won't be able to find this thread again.

If you claim there are nuances to principles, there are no nuances to getting arrested or shot for disobeying the power.

Heavy sarcasm dripping off of responses to Chas' suggestion, why?

I posted it in the personal issues instead of the forum issues. Much jocularity ensued. Thumbsup

RE: Thread presentation
I am serious about the suggestion. That presentation would be easier to follow.

Time order (Linear) loses context, Threaded requires too much clicking and page reloading.

I would like Expanded Mode: expanded posts like Linear, but thread order like Threaded.

The implementation is straightforward.

The seriousness of this thread must be regained. Just give me a moment to pick my ass up from the floor. Big Grin

RE: Thread presentation
Chas, If there is a plugin that supports the feature you are after we can try it out.

It doesn't sound easy to me. Some of it sounds complicated, with the multiple levels and branches coming off one post and the visual representation... In the case of multiple branches do you show the same post multiple times? etc...

I use linear mode anyway, makes more sense to me to go with chronological and use the quotes as representation of the post they refer to.
