RE: Tisket/Tasket Deplorable basket.
Basket of deplorables - probably highly inappropriate but man, that made me laugh. I blame the weed I bought at the local store the other day Tongue

This, however, is not at all funny:

Quote:Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin ® said on Saturday that conservatives may have to turn to physical violence to protect their values.

“I want us to be able to fight ideologically, mentally, spiritually, economically, so that we don’t have to do it physically,” Bevin said during his speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington. “But that may, in fact, be the case.”

Bevin went on to say that he believed the U.S. would survive a Hillary Clinton presidency, but it might require bloodshed.

“The roots of the tree of liberty are watered by what? The blood. Of who? The tyrants to be sure, but who else? The patriots,” he said. “Whose blood will be shed? It may be that of those in this room. It might be that of our children and grandchildren. I have nine children. It breaks my heart to think that it might be their blood that is needed to redeem something, to reclaim something, that we through our apathy and our indifference have given away. Don’t let it happen.”

Scary shit!

It's not inciting violence if you're a Republican, it's "free speech and family 'values'."

Says an idiot from the party whose candidate said if he gave the military an illegal order, they damn well would carry it out.

Scary shit!

If you were to visit some firearm forums/message boards, or make a visit to a local gun range or gun shop, you'd see and hear things straight out of 1775.

Millions of people (the majority of them armed) believe this country is headed down the wrong path. Gun control is a major issue that could lead to a civil war. Another hot topic is refugees and illegal aliens.

Its a very real scenario that is talked about all over the internet, NRA meetings, veteran get togethers, and among friends at the gun range:

Major gun control legislation gets passed. Something greater than the assualt weapons ban of the 1990's but less than full confiscation. Maybe a national law similar to what California just passed. Supreme Court upholds the law as constitutional. Gun owners across America revolt, hit the rest button on America, imprison liberal politicians that have violated the constitution with their votes, and remove all illegals and refugees. Perhaps the U.S. splits into two or 3 countries.

I've always believed it could happen. It's one thing when its just people ranting about revolution. When actual leaders are out there saying it, the possibility that it could happen rises. Many states have written into their constitutions the right of the peope to reform the government, through the use of force.

Gun owners do not believe the lefts intentions on gun control are to prevent crime. Gun owners believe gun control is a tool to weaken their ability to reform the government if needed.

Hard to water the tree of liberty with blood of tyrants if all you have are rocks to throw.

RE: Tisket/Tasket Deplorable basket.
I am sick of assholes making excuses for Trump's peddling of fear and bigotry. He has had 50 former GOP law agents call him dangerous. He has had fellow billionaire Mark Cuban call his Jerry Springer tactics "Headline Porn". He has a vice president running mate who is anti LGBT. These same assholes will rightfully point to the religiously justified violence out of the middle east, but yet it is ok for a GOP GOV to suggest religious violence here.

Trump isn't "telling it like it is", he is taking the same scapegoating demagoguery playbook of WW2 Germany.

I've always thought it would be a very good idea for gun owners to hit the "rest" button.
