I would say the GOP changed a lot with the War in Iraq 2.0. That's when progressive and altermondialist forces became increasingly hostile and organised and were met by an equal force from the conservative and nationalist forces. The "War on Terror" clearly pitted nationalist against altermondialist in an ideological battle on the role of military forces, imigration policies and minorities integration. Those were themes hotly debated on numerous news outlet, forums and they were a subject in the last elections.

Freedom is servitude to justice and intellectual honesty.
