...from the wicked hearts that he explicitly gave us and knew we'd have before we were born. So, really, this could be rephrased as "God committed suicide to save us from himself."

Or if you're God killing anyone. He's on record for killing innumerable people in the Bible alone. This doesn't even count "grey areas" like natural disasters ("acts of God") and natural miscarriages.
