This. Well made movie but it was stolen from this. (nostalgia)

@ germanyt

No, it was not stolen from there, Avatar is a pure copy of Dances With Wolves with Kevin Costner. The producers have said that they have used it for idea and they have mentioned some other movies as well, but DwW is the closest and the most famous movie with this theme, so I always call Avatar - Dances With Smurfs, as Cartmen called it.

P.S.
Dances with Wolves is from 1990, Fern Gully is from 1992...

Although I was very skeptical toward Avatar, it was still a great movie, almost made me cry, and I never cry. Ever. Smile

Dances With Wolves, Ferngully, Pocahantas. Take your pick.

RE: Top Ten Films of All Time?
1) Lord of the Rings trilogy
2) Alien
3) Wall-E
4) Jurassic Park
5) Back to the Future
6) Planet of the Apes
7)Shaun of the Dead
8) Silence of the Lambs
9) South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut
10) King Kong (2005) (sue me)

I would love to include more, obviously, but these are ones that I know I can pop in at any time and enjoy the fuck out of.

And I often find myself in the minority in liking PJ's King Kong, but I always enjoy every second of the movie, I even own the extended edition of it because I'm that much of a sucker.

RE: Top Ten Films of All Time?
My top 20 movies I have not seen mentioned so far but should have been, in alphabetical order:

Alien
Apocalypse Now
Bonnie and Clyde
Cape Fear (Scorsese remake)
Casino Royale (remake)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Kalifornia
LA Confidential
Ocean's Eleven (remake)
Planet of the Apes (original)
Some Like it Hot
Suspicion
The Gumball Rally
The Killer Inside Me
The Silence of the Lambs
Touch of Evil
True Romance
Two Lane Blacktop
Unforgiven

If one of these was mentioned on earlier lists, I missed it, sorry. Of course if I were to choose the top ten of all time they would have to include Pulp Fiction, The Wizard of Oz, American Graffiti, Rear Window, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski. Has anyone mentioned Raiders of the Lost Ark? If not, that could easily make the list, too.

Kalifornia while not on my top list is still something worth watching. After repeated viewings the only thing I still like is Pitt and his lady. Anyone who thinks brad Pitt can't act hasn't seen Kalifornia.

RE: Top Ten Films of All Time?
1. Silence of the Lambs - (all except Hannibal Rising, but if we're talking books, the entire quadrilogy)
2. The Green Mile
3. The Shawshank Redemption
4. Rome (The TV series)
5. Lord of War
6. I, robot
7. 12 angry men (I saw them both. The old one in black and white is better, despite the good cast of the more recent version)
8. The man who sued God
9. As Good as it Gets
10. Dead Poets Society

Oh, no Hallucinations 4:11 says the 'gilded sheep should be stewed in rat blood' but Morons 5:16 contradicts it. (Chas)
