Their customs are ancient? Just because they don't develope things the same way you do does not mean they don't develope. When anthropologists study these groups they aren't looking simply for a link to the past. They are looking at the interesting advances this new world brings. All peoples advance and adapt and learn, the western culture is not the only group that is able to study and reason.

There's a reason the word primitive is a bad word among anthropologists. It suggests something that just plain isn't true. It suggests that these peoples are lacking something mentally. When you go and study and learn with them, you'll find out that they have their own good advancements and systems. It's nothing like you're used to but that doesn't make it "ancient".

To put it simply a monkey wearing a tie is still a monkey

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.
