Here is an example.

Read the full stories, will you?

I have. Plenty of full stories. I learned that Pakistan is not real islam, Turkey is not real islam, Saudi Arabia is not real islam, terrorists are not real muslims, anyone who doesn't give a choice for hijab is not a real muslim, anyone who is against gays is not a real muslim, anyone calling for death of atheists and ex muslims is not a real muslim, ex muslims were not real muslims, ahmadis are not real muslims, shia are not real muslims, islam is not real islam, well can we fucking get the real definition of what a real muslim is?

Maybe social media isn't that reliable after all.

I find moderate muslims (especially, moderate muslims of the west) quite cute since they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the real preaching of islam. In more than 70 different verses in Quran and hadith, Allah and Mohammad command them to fight and kill kaafirs and apostates. If the moderates really knew what Quran and hadith taught, they'd die of shame. Nope Tongue because definitions don't work that way. Language is an agreement, and not everyone has to agree to the same thing. Thumbsup

The same goes for a lot of christians. I have a fundie friend who has never read the bible. She hears sermons and gets a daily prayer e-mail. No atrocities, ever, all love and happiness. Well, except her fellow church member treated her like shit on occasion.

I imagine it's pretty tough to get people to reconsider their own inherent ideologies, especially when they're based in something like faith. (Politics is like this too.)

I was in France last year and I noticed that the majority of men trying to sell trinkets (little Eiffel Towers, baubles and whatnot) to tourists appeared to be from the Middle East.

Their lives must be absolute shit.

(Note: I didn't take these photos, nor do I own them, but they're indicative of the vendors I'm speaking about.)

Is it any wonder that they yearn for something more, something in a glorious afterlife?

I don't think it would take much convincing for some of the more weak-minded among them to be suckered in by Daesh propaganda and promises of an eternity of bliss if they'd blow themselves up.

Two images. One looks like an East Indian, the other is an African. Eking out an honest living selling trinkets.

Then this.
Is it any wonder that they yearn for something more, something in a glorious afterlife?

Why wouldn't they yearn for something more in the here and now? Are they too different to have a normal yearning?

It is the same for all the religions. especially, the abrahamic religions. But I personally never classify Islam as a religion, it is more like a totalitarian ideology. I was a muslim and I know how they grow up. Trust me, most of the muslims (including some moderates) have the dream of world domination

I learned baton tactics from the Marines when I was in the US Navy, but I wouldn't be going up against three people with knives. That guy has some real stones.

You notice very quickly how Muslims don't react first with solidarity but worry about their own, special minority image. 'This attack is worrying, I'm worried about the backlash against Muslims'. Backlash? A MUSLIM TERRORIST from your communities has slaughtered 22 teenagers last week, 7 people yesterday and have caused the worst nightmares for the entire country. And you worry about your 'Islamaphobia'? Eww, just fucking eww.

In a world that is quick to make associations - Quebec City, Portland come immediately to mind - why shouldn't they worry about an action that could just encourage more of that kind of backlash by the less sophisticated among us? The ones I would worry about have no fear for their own lives and welcome that type of animus.

For community escorts (i.e. bringing someone to the hospital) we get pepper spray and a telescoping baton. Not too fond of either. But hey, you do what you can with what you got.
