Good, finally we can engage in some real rational politics discussion on this place again.

Which part of the thread?
I was talking about those(on the left) who organized to SHUT DOWN the rally.

Yes, it is an attack on freedom of speech. It is un-American to say: you CAN'T SPEAK. It is Soviet Union.

... is the left it's own entity now?

It indeed could be bad if the liberals of the US amalgamated into one mass-entity...

You do understand that freedom of speech belongs to both sides?

Not just the ones you want to hear.

We also have the right to assemble to let our voices known and heard. It's our most cherished freedom.

Yes, it is an attack on freedom of speech. It is un-American to say: you CAN'T SPEAK. It is Soviet Union.

These kinda wrap in each other so I thought I may as well address them both at once; I can understand the perspective, but I must admit that I'm not sure I find it a very valid concern given that what the protesters are doing is perfectly within their rights to do as part of their freedom of expression, just as much Trump is within his rights to spew whatever populist vitriol he wants. It is not a violation of freedom of speech to ask a doomsayer preacher to stop screaming on the sidewalk.

As a non-american, I am forced to ask precisely what 'unamerican' means.

hmm, that sounds un-american to me. you have the american liberty to shoot a gun besides your unprotected ears and tune out those other voices.

alla is completely blinded by or fine by not realizing how authoritarian and anti-free speech the religious/social upper right branch is, Which included her lovely Mr. Carson, And how all of their notions are notions that are "un-american" based on her alleged what is or isn't america based on her propaganda filled upbringing and irrational fear of anything too socialist for her due to that soviet Ukraine.

Yes, I'm wondering if it is a good thing or a bad thing to be un-American.

And yet, that too is their right. They have the right to peaceably assemble and seek address of their grievances from the government.

The Constitution protects more than just the right to be a bigoted asshole and own a gun.

NO. Unequivocally no. Saying 'I disagree with you' is not an attack on that person's freedom of speech. Tump and his supporters can be bigots, and the protesters can yell right back and even attempt to drown them out with their own speech. The freedom of speech protects your right to speak, it doesn't guarantee that you'll be heard; nobody owes Trump a soapbox and a microphone, and freedom of speech doesn't grant him those nor protect his access to them. Freedom of speech cannot force others to listen.

It is illegal, but seeing as how it was done by Americans to other Americans, that makes it very much American by definition. The country has a very long and sad history of violence, so you calling violence in politics 'un-American' only shows (once again) your complete and utter ignorance on the subject. Once again, you acting like you have any kind of authority or knowledge shows that you bring nothing of real substance to the table yet again.
