"Under the US Constitution, a simple majority in the House of Representatives could vote to impeach Trump for treason, bribery, or other high crimes or misdemeanors. If convicted by the Senate on a two-thirds vote, Trump could be removed from office—and a new poll suggests that after week one, more than a third of Americans are already eager to see Trump impeached.

If impeachment seems like a fine solution, the good news is that Congress doesn't need evidence of actual treason or murder to move forward with an impeachment: Practically anything can be considered a high crime or misdemeanor."

And...

"In these dark days, some around the globe are finding solace in the 25th Amendment to the Constitution. This previously obscure amendment states that the Vice President and a majority of the principal officers of the executive departments can declare the president unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, in which case the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

This is [an] option for getting rid of Trump: an appeal to Vice President Mike Pence's ambitions. Surely Pence wants to be president himself one day, right? Pence isn't exactly a political moderate—he's been unremittingly hostile to gay rights, he's a climate change skeptic, etc—but, unappealing as his politics may be to many Americans, he does not appear to actually be insane. (This is the new threshold for plausibility in American politics: 'not actually insane.')"

—There's also another couple of outside options, so maybe not all is lost?

Impeachment does nothing, it is essentially like a Prosecutor bringing charges. If the Senate does not convict then the end result is the same as having been charged with a crime and found not guilty. He would still be acting President.

@DonaldTrump, Patriotism is not honoring your flag no matter what your country/leader does. It's doing whatever it takes to make your country the best it can be as long as its not violent.

This is what happened to Nixon. He resigned before the impeachment proceedings continued. He saw the writing on the wall.

Having said that, I would STILL vote for Nixon over trump in a heartbeat, that's how insane trump is.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Harry Truman descended to the lowest point of any president at 22%. I think it was when he relieved General MaCarthur of his duties.

Trump was voted into office by only about 1/4 of the voting public so there's a lot of people who didn't vote or voted for Hillary and this means that his base isn't a very wide swath of the American voters. The orange man could roll downhill into his own swamp very quickly.

I think they didn't actually expect him to win; that they voted as a protest against the status quo rather than actually voting for DJT.

Seems that's much of how the Brexit vote came to be as well, as a vote against the status quo and perceived influence of Europe on sovereign UK powers.

I don't see Trump resigning, if it comes to impeachment. He's far too arrogant for that.

If that isn't photoshopped then it looks an awful lot like she's bitten her nails right down to the quick. Perhaps life churning out alt-fact isn't agreeing with her.
