He's a vengeful little prick. That'll teach all those loud women to protest him.

He's not an idiot.

He's a megalomaniacal narcissistic bully with a thin skin and fragile ego, a Putin stooge that's easily played.

But he also knows he's beholden to the Christian alt-right for much of his support.

Because nothing says "freedom" more than a government agency involved in very difficult conversations between a woman and her physician.

"The president can do whatever he wants" - basically LDH's response.

Although I might not agree with it personally, I don't think it's vengeful. It's part of the GOP platform.

Reagan did it.
Bush 1 kept it.
Bush 2 reinstated it after Clinton got rid of it.
Trump reinstated it after Obama got rid of it.

Any republican that won would have done it.

It's standard issue conservative power play.

Not unexpected.

But folks like you were supposed to be highlight some sort of difference about him that was supposed to exist.

If it's standard conservative moves that are tolerated. Then Rubio or Jeb shoulda been president.

Why though? Why is it that "oh he's Republican he needs to do this".
That's stupid and just further perpetuates this whole divide you as a country have going on.

This is far right policy. Trump is a populist (not to be confused with 'popular') president, his beliefs revolve solely around what the people want irrespective of facts (case in point being the wall) and/or common sense.

He shouldn't be catering to the far right he should be catering to the centre.
His whole campaign was that he was gonna come in and rip the book up and now he's just following party lines and doing what's expected of him??

He didn't get elected because of his policies, he got elected because he's not a politician and promised to 'clean the swamp'. The only reason he got elected is because people don't like politicians. If he just turns into one he's going against what got him elected.

He'll drain the swamp they said.

He wants a smaller government they said.

So he goes and picks the most incompetent set of appointees since FEMA was headed by an equestrian, and also immediately inserted themselves as best they can into women's uterus the world over.

Indeed, not unexpected, but terribly stupid and dangerous nonetheless.

Yes, but then again, are you sure this was Trump's idea? It's a little too soon to say for sure, but Pence may have already begun to squeeze Trump's "Not so yuge" ballsack.
