Trump's new pick for labor secretary just doesn't get why workers need breaks
Quote:Prsident-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Labor Secretary appears less and less like a champion of workers each day. On Wednesday, OC Weekly unearthed a 2009 interview between Puzder, who is the CEO of CKE restaurants, and California State University Prof. Allison Varzally.

During their interview, Puzder called California a socialist state, adding that “You can’t be a capitalist” there. He then complained about workers regulations and overtime laws, boasting his belief that “workers are overprotected.” He also claimed that workers should not have breaks.

OC Weekly reported the following statement from Puzder’s interview:

“Have you ever been to a fast food restaurant and the employees are sitting and you’re wondering, ‘Why are they sitting?'” Puzder asked. “They are on what is called amandatory break.” He shared a laugh with the interviewer, saying the so-called nanny state is why Carl’s Jr. doesn’t open up any new restaurants in California anymore.

Yeah, why do people need breaks? I don't get it, it's not like they're working all the time or anything. Also, if you're for protecting workers, you're just a dirty socialist. These people are retarded.

At work.

So.... it's summer here with 40+ deg C' temperatures. Our standard fascility has been declared "Unfit for human habitation" due to raw sewage inundation and is awaiting demolition.

Current station is a rented, half length shipping container sized (Has good insulation, one door, one window, one small airconditioning unit) 'Office space'.

Into this fit two officers on night shift. Three officers on day shift. All shifts are twelve hours. Two working terminals, 'Bar' sized fridge. Some desk space. Water cooler. Physical amenities are a 5 min walk away. (So... any issues with your own plumbing? Factor in the head start)

These conditions have been current for two months and will continue into the forseeable future.

Lets see that pompous twat survive even an eight hour stint in such conditions without whining about things.

This just reinforces the general belief that the people who really supported Trump and believed in him are the people who he's going to fuck the hardest. We will see how things actually play out, but it's not looking good for the working and middle class right now.

Doesn't matter. It'll still be all the Democrats' fault somehow.

I doubt it. Neither party really has any great solutions to our problems. That's the reason we constantly go back and forth. If Trump doesn't show some progress quickly, then in the midterms he will lose ground in the House and Senate, which has been the consistent trend the last 30 years. Whether or not he gets a 2nd term will depend on a lot of things. He made a lot of promises. If some of them aren't kept, he may have a tough time in 2020. I guess it also depends on who the Democrats put up.

When Obama ran in 2012, things were better than they were in 2008. That, and a boring Republican candidate who offered nothing to the middle and working class, got him a 2nd term. If there is an economic downswing under Trump, his fault or not, he's going to be blamed and it may cost him. Depends on who the Democrats run, I guess. Run a Joe Biden or someone similar, they probably lose again.

What's interesting about all this to me is people like me are probably going to do great under Trump. I'm white, middle class, and my household income is pretty high compared to the rest of the country. My taxes will go down and, other than him destroying the environment I live in, I should be more than fine. And yet, I'm already disgusted by what I see. A lot of the working class people who voted for him and continue to ignore all the warning signs, however, are likely to get screwed very badly.

I guess you can't blame them for voting for Trump, though. Hillary Clinton wasn't helping those people. So, he was their best chance at something positive.

Trump gets approx 103 federal court appointments as soon as he takes office, and the democrats got rid of the filibuster for court appointments below the supreme court.

Hilarious.
