In just under 2 weeks we will be depending on this guy to protect us from ISIS and other assorted threats on the basis of information from intelligence operatives who he dismisses blithely. Dog help us.

... not to mention that his primary channel of communication appears to be Twitter. That doesn't inspire a lot of confidence either. Foreign policy via Twitter -- I can hardly wait.

I honestly don't think the US is the most 'powerful' in the world anymore. I suppose it comes down to what is meant by 'most powerful'. Are we speaking of economy, military, finances?

...but I would venture to say China is currently in the lead as far as economy and might...they are just a LOT quieter about it.

You could be right there mate but lets face it you are still far from irrelevant and highly significant on the world stage.

Comedy gold. I hope these articles never get deleted. I should screen shot them all and put them in an album or something.

The real comedy gold, LDH, is in the fact that all you have is "but Trump won". Even most of the people that voted for Trump recognize that he's trouble. They just like Hillary less. Relatively few are actually happy that Trump was the other candidate. In 4 years, when Trump's failures have become undeniable, you will still be saying, "but Trump won". Laugh out load

@DonaldTrump, Patriotism is not honoring your flag no matter what your country/leader does. It's doing whatever it takes to make your country the best it can be as long as its not violent.

Republicans had 16 other candidates to choose from.

From safe picks like Kasich and Jeb to far right conservative Ted Cruz to non-politician Ben Carson to a woman like Carly Fiorina.

Trump won. When it got down to 3 candidates with Trump, safe candidate Kasich and far right conservative Cruz, Trump pulled over 53% in Indiana.

Republicans are just fine with Trump.

I do anticipate however that there will be a rare challenge to a sitting president and we will have republican primary in 2020 like in 1976.

No, they're not. Many Republicans - a huge amount - never wanted Trump at all. But he won the primary and only because enough Republicans perceived the other candidates as even worse. That says A LOT about the incompetence of the Republican party as a whole right now that 17 candidates were that bad. So then, even the ones that didn't want him only had a choice between him and Clinton, and as I said, they simply liked Clinton less.

The democratic party didn't exactly shine either. Mr. Potato Head probably could have beaten Trump, but instead they choose the only person in the world who couldn't.
