This took me way too much time to read, I doubt it's faster than the traditional method. I mean, it's not that hard. Find me something for division instead and I'll be happy.

Try it with 157,983 x 89,624 and then watch an autistic 6-year-old get the right answer in 3 seconds.

You don't think it's completely friggin' brilliant?

I'll try it both ways and measure the time. I really suck at math. I don't think it will help me Tongue

I think it has something to do with the Japanese language ... the numbers are said or perceived in a certain way which, when properly learned, expedite maths.

I'm pretty certain about this. I'm also pretty certain I learned about this on a Qi episode. So ... I'll just drink my coffee now. Drinking Beverage

If you tried to teach this to elementary kids in the states, parents would be up in arms because it's not the way they learned to do math. Never mind if it's useful or helpful for the kids.
