I did wonder if potential jealousy was an issue just remind yourself that there are plenty of areas a dog cannot compete with a human in terms of affection and love.

Yay! It's nice to see someone who is not all "but wait for the teen years..." I just tell the gloom and doom folks that I have no intention of raising her during those years anyway. Her father is a professional teenager wrangler (high school teacher) so I'm just gonna let him do all the work.
