Feh, it's bad here, but I'm a little leery of surveys like this. They managed to get a sample size that was almost 0.2% of Iceland's population, for example, but their sample of the US population is less than 0.0005%, and I daresay there's a LOT more cultural variation from coast to coast in the US than there is in Iceland.

Then there are other surveys that show things like: almost 1 in 3 Europeans believe the sun goes around the earth, or 54% don't know that electrons are smaller than atoms. And about 1 in 4 believe: that humans lived at the same time as dinosaurs, that all radioactivity is man-made, and that lasers work by focusing sound waves.

What Europeans really think (and know) about science and technology

As far as I can see, the state of science education could be better, pretty much everywhere.
