I think it's fascinating how Zeus transformed into a bull so he could rape women. I think it's more fascinating that Heracles' wife accepts a gift from a centaur after said centaur raped her.

I see no difference in your mythology than these. I see no reason to think the Jesus person was anything more than another apocalyptic preacher whose messages were identical.

To be fair talking about food seems to have more substance than whatever link the OP posted.

PM me if you have any questions

Why PM...are you afraid to defend yourself in full view of the forum?

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Tell me, did Father Barron ever ask if you liked Gladiator movies?

Just curious is all...

I have other things to do than go to YouTube right now. Got a fun book I'm listening to. Sum up your argument here and I'll respond.

PM me if you have any questions

Yeah, I prefer to have my discussions in a public forum. I frankly don't trust you enough to not misrepresent any PMs between us.

I watched the video, and I have to ask.... you DO know where you are, don't you?

This forum is predominately atheists.

I mean, it's there IN THE NAME.

You're trying to expand on the details of a Christian Christology wherein God became man and then died to redeem humanity. It's not that you're trying to prove that, or even persuade us of that without a total proof. You're expanding on it AS IF IT'S SOMETHING WE ALL AGREED ON, as if it was a shared starting point that you were building upon.

So again... you DO know where you are, don't you?

Don't you?

WE DON'T BELIEVE IT WENT DOWN LIKE THAT.

Even if we were in a process to coming to your way of thinking, we'd be on Step 2 and you're trying to walk us through Step 8. Do you see why that's bad tactics? Do you see why this reeks of incompetence?

This would be like if someone's in Los Angeles, and you tell them step-by-step the route to get from the interstate to Wayne Manor in Gotham City. They'd need directions to Gotham before they could use that.

Also, they'd need to WANT to go to Gotham City.

Also, Gotham City would need to exist.

So do you know where you are? Because I'm starting to doubt that you know where you are.

I mean, I could ask dozens of other questions like, why would an omnipotent god need to become man and suffer and die in order to redeem the world, when an omnipotent god could just do that with a figurative wave of the hand (or even without one). Or, why wait 4000 years if it was so important, weren't the earlier generations of any value. Or, how does sacrificing himself to himself help anything at all. Or, why would such a loving god then withhold salvation from anyone who didn't believe that the story was fact.

But that's way too far down the line. Let's start with the basics.

You know where we are, right?
