Do people really think we'd not have had architecture and music, art and such unless by religion? You guys don't think we'd not have discovered beauty and creativeness without religion?

I certainly think we would have.

Given that we have found what is believed to be a 50,000-year-old flute ( http://www.greenwych.ca/divje-b.htm ) made from a bear femur (as well as 30,000-year-old prehistoric cave paintings ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chauvet_Cave )), I think that we can safely conclude that we would have plenty of beauty, art and music in our lives and our world had religion not reared its ugly head.

No one said that we wouldn't have architecture without religion, Sab. As morondog said, and as I said earlier on, we gained a few good things Smile

Oh for sure we would have. I like actual religious art, architecture of churches and other religious places of worship.

RE: Two good things religion gave us
Hey guys ... Just for clarity. SpaceMonkey means exactly this!
Religion is really shit, but, seeing as we have had it for thousands of years, at least some of the music and buildings that were made and built in its name are beautiful.

She isn't saying we wouldn't have beauty. She isn't saying we wouldn't have architecture, she isn't saying we wouldn't have music. She is simply saying that some of the stuff it has influenced is incredible and that it has happened, that's what we've got, at least we can appreciate THAT!

Simple. I guarantee 100% that's exactly what she's saying! ... She was sat next to me farting and picking her nose when she made the OP Big Grin

I'll just play the 'can I help you' lick!!!
