Meanwhile, republicans are mopping the floor across the country in state senate races, governor positions, mayor races, and U.S. house and senate seats.

Having a Democrat as president does nothing for democrats if the only thing they have is the white house.

I don't agree with your assertion. Massachusetts has a Democratic governor and a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate.
In the U.S. Senate, it has two Democrats. In the U.S. House of Representatives, it has 9 Democrats and 0 Republicans.

Every election is hard fought by both parties.

Massachusetts governor is a Republican (Charlie Baker)

Chance at winning the 2016 election?

Yes.

Of course I hope that most of the 2016 election goes to the Democrats. Neither party has economic policies that will benefit the country, both parties serve corporate masters and not the people, so social policies (which are quite different) are the deciding factors in my vote.

trump>shillary

No, the only candidate in the field worse than Trump is Benny the Loon.

Ah, yes. I was thinking of the previous one. Baker's a n00b.

With a Republican-controlled Federal government, you can kiss much of the First Amendment good-bye.

What would be some examples of that?

Ben Carson wants the government to monitor bias on college campuses. Can it?

Religious school vouchers, religion in government, Ten Commandments in courthouses, criminalizing 'blasphemy', and on and on.
