RE: USA and Russia
Quote:“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump’s son, Donald Jr., told a real estate conference in 2008, according to an account posted on the website of eTurboNews, a trade publication. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Quote:The coming together of Trump’s business and political agendas was evident during his 2013 Moscow trip, in which he was seeking deals at the same time he was starting to ponder a presidential run.

Interesting article on this topic.

When you look at it from this angle, maybe Obama was really just adding public scrutiny to what Trump is doing with Russia....maybe on purpose.

RE: USA and Russia
Trumps latest tweet praises Putin and calls him smart.

He's probably not wrong in that regards. Whatever Putin is, he's not unsmart.

RE: USA and Russia
Except he wasn't calling Putin personally smart. He was commenting on his actions.

I really don't know what the truth is here, but for the President-elect to be cozying up with Putin is a bad sign. But, it doesn't matter. People who are going to like Trump are not going to let any thing talk them out of it. At least, not until he takes office. And, people inclined to dislike Trump aren't going to let anything talk them out of it either.

Lines are drawn. This is all foreplay in advance of whatever comes next.

Report: Russians breach US electric grid.

Nothing to see here. Move along now. Putin is only interested in helping us to upgrade our infrastructure.

My guess is that there is a lot more to find.

That said, I bet China and others have hacking in place too, and the US does too.

The cold war has long moved on from nukes to hacks. Probably Putin et al are giggling at Trump's focus on nukes. He really needs to go to some intelligence briefings. Probably there are too many big words in those briefings for him.

RE: USA and Russia
We've got plenty of resources allocated to cyber warfare, hacking included. Our main disadvantage is our own laws which, contrary to popular belief, we generally try to follow. China and Russia don't have those self imposed restraints.

Which laws are you referring to?
