That probably explains why they all died off.

What did they believe?

The Bible is perfect but the translators and copyists were fallable men and sometimes made mistakes.

The information in ancient libraries came from real minds of real people. The far more complex information in cells came from the far more intelligent mind of God.

RE: Unicorns. satyrs, cockatrices, dragons
If the Bible is the perfect, infallible word of God (which I can assure you, it is not) then wouldn't the translations also be perfect? Think about it, why would God allow the Bible to be subject of the same problems of other books, like lost manuscripts and mistranslations? How can you even be sure the original manuscripts were correct if the translations and copies can't be trusted to be correct? The Bible was a victim to ordinary circumstance, but makes extraordinary claims. It is obviously not a special book, I can only hope that one day you will see this, and it will be soon enough that you won't feel the massive regret that a lot of ex-christians end up feeling about their wasted time.

It begins with this statement
Quote:If you believe the Holy Bible is absolutely, perfectly accurate and infallible:
and then list some things a Bible believer must believe. I won't take the time to examine the whole entry but I will discuss four of the things we supposedly must believe.

Quote:• You believe in unicorns, referenced no less than 8 times in the bible. (Numbers 23:22, Numbers 24:8, Deuteronomy 33:17, Job 39:9-10, Psalm 22:21, Psalm 29:6, Psalm 92:10, Isaiah 34:7)
Unicorns do exist. The name means "one horn" and there are animals that have only one horn. Just click on this link and you will see pictures of some of them:

No, it doesn't. You constantly speak hypothetically. "Probably" this, "Maybe" that.

You bend the facts so you can make the Biblical tale sound plausible. What you don't realize is that while you bend the facts, you completely violate everything we know to be true. Why try and even create ridiculous natural explanations for the supernatural? Isn't it is because God wanted it be so enough for you?

Then how can you be so sure you read the correct thing?

How old are you theophilus? You have made three threads now and all that is happening is you making arguments that are going no where as people counter everything you say with facts. Look the Bible is made up, and eveything you or someone else says to defend the blood thirsty tyrant Yahweh is futile. You didn't even respond to my last message in the Flood thread. I was curious so I will ask you again. What do you think of Yahweh's law that if a girl gets raped then she must marry the guy that raped her? That is just one of many horrible laws in the Bible. Yahweh is your God by the way in case you didn't know as some christians I have talked to don't know the name of their own God lol.

He's 70, and in his defense, he is getting somewhat swarmed here, so it's understandable that he cannot address all points thrown at him.

I don't believe Jesus is the son of God until I see the long form birth certificate!

There are people that are that dumb, even if it is very hard to believe. I have met people that stupid. It is &%*$ sad.

I was thinking the same thing.

Shackle their minds when they're bent on the cross
When ignorance reigns, life is lost

He hasn't adequately addressed even one point. In his defence I will say that he appears very senile.
