I really do trust the scientists who're the studied experts in their field? Wink

Yeah, I was just poking a little fun at your spelling of "necessarily."

Smartass

Check out my now-defunct atheism blog. It's just a blog, no ads, no revenue, no gods.

Missed the red line form the spell checker.... Blush

Always have been bad with my spelling. Something that has been much cause for grief in the past. Sadcryface

Much cheers to all.

Since Atheists do not believe in a higher power or heaven. Don't they then have a prerogative to focus on this life, the only one we have. Making them sensitive to environmental concerns mass logging, pollution, green energy, and, the one that is the most important, Climate Change. See, it even got capital letters.

So, do Atheists as an overwhelming majority believe in man made climate change, and that it is harmful to life on earth.

I'm really curious to hear every ones thoughts.

I believe the climate is always changing. I believe man does have some affect on climate change. But I believe that that affect is minuscule and that other factors such as the activity of the sun and the Earth's orbit are much bigger drivers. I'm much more worried about the polluting of the oceans and the destruction of wetlands than climate change. I don't think we should spend one dime trying to stop the climate from changing because we couldn't even if we spent 100% of our total production.

I think the whole global warming (now its climate change since there hasn't been any warming since 2000) thing is about controlling people, not the health of the environment. Increased CO2 is good for crops and with the burgeoning population we definitely could use it.

No, true scotsman, you are incorrect. Why do you think the Greenland ice sheet is melting? Why do you think there is less Arctic ice coverage each year?

Do you really think that pumping 2.4 million pounds of CO₂ per second into the atmosphere has a minuscule effect?

RE: Unofficial Poll: Climate Change
Seems Greenland's glacier is actually expanding, not melting, Chas,

Here is a list of glaciers which are actually expanding, http://www.iceagenow.com/Growing_Glaciers.htm

The East Antarctic glacier is also expanding: http://www.climatedepot.com/2013/08/30/n...ince-1990/

As are Asian glaciers: http://www.livescience.com/48256-asia-ka...ility.html

Most of the articles on the internet now are showing that ice is actually on the increase. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/art...m-al-gore/

I suppose this is the kind of heresy that qualifies one as a crank but when I was a kid the scientists were warning of a mini ice age in the early 21st century and suggesting that one way of avoiding it, possibly, was for everyone to burn more fossil fuels.

And, contrary to what Alvin Gore says, the Arctic Ice Cap is getting bigger, not smaller as shown in real photographs, as opposed to hallucinations: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/a...E-now.html

Global Climate Change?

Sure.

It always has.

If it stays exactly the same all the time, then you can start to worry.

....

Do people effect the climate?

Sure..

So do butterflies, kittens, puppies and giant redwood trees. EVERYTHING DOES.....

....

Anybody who tells you there's a "good" / "bad" side to change, hasn't been paying attention....

RE: Unofficial Poll: Climate Change
Anthropogenic climate change is true. Humans (as a part of the global carbon cycle that are generating massive amounts of CO2) are having a significant impact on the current warming trend.

Seems to be a 'Wing-nut' site that's also blaming things on 'Magnetic pole reversals'. Consider

Another site.. also laced with conspiracy theories and other such ideas. The gist of the site seems to be "Liberals bad. Republican's good". Consider

Seems that site also has links about how bad melting is.

http://www.livescience.com/50282-antarct...nning.html

http://www.livescience.com/50244-wyoming...rlier.html

Consider

Ah yes... because news-papers are a font of science education and peer-reviewed literature....

Consider

First, please offer a better citation than just an anecdote. Also,

Yay... again another news-paper article. Consider

So... will you actually be showing any science? Or will you just continue to offer more of the above?

Much cheers to all.

Is the Daily Mail the UK equivalent of FUX News?
