RE: Vegetarian Athiests
I got a weird question... who started that steroetype... I mean no other group has one like that... you don't hear for example...

black people eat pigeons off the subway line whole and still kicking... sorry kinda extreme but it gets to my point.

If I understand correctly; you're asking why vegetarians have a kind of "woo" stereotype? (If that's not what you meant, ignore what follows)

At the risk of offending our local vegetarians on the forum, it's my personal feeling that vegetarianism brings to mind a detachment from reality - the reality that our bodies are built to take in, process and use various nutrients found in meats.

Needless to say, detachment from reality is a hallmark of our lovely woo-inclined friends. So, for me, when I think "vegetarian", I think "sitting in the woods in a drum-circle, singing to the Earth spirits and connecting with nature on a spiritual level". For that type of new-agey individual, eating meat could be tantamount to murder. Or, so it is in the mental picture that is conjured within my mind.

But again, that's just the way I feel about it. I realize it's a gross generalization, and an inaccurate one at that.

Disregard my other post, then. Lmao

The "baby-eating atheist" sterotype, I believe, began because atheists don't typically have a problem with abortion. I'm sure you can connect the fantastical and absurd dots from there. Tongue

Once upon a time..... in another medium far far away... some Theist accused Atheists of being baby eaters... among other things.
Little did they know, many of us are curious little bastards.... Wink

RE: Vegetarian Athiests
The problem is that theists simply don't understand our position. If they gave it just one try, they'd find that babies are delicious. Not only that, but if made into a stew early in their development, they have plenty of energizing and revitalizing stem-cells.

Who WOULDN'T eat at that restaurant?
