I Don't know why and I don't know where thy come from, but sometimes i can get really really awkward thoughts in certain situations.
These my vary from really violent to really silly or just downright pornographic.

Well...
they never got me in trouble so far...
I wonder if others have them as well...

I suspect what you're experiencing is more the rule than the exception. If we could peer into people's heads to see all the thoughts floating around in there, we'd be in for some major shocks. Fortunately technology is unable to go that far . . . yet.

As long as you can distinguish between impulse and action, you're OK. Your thoughts are private; if they're not harming anyone, including yourself, don't worry about them. Die Gedanken sind frei.

One of the worst religious teachings on the planet comes from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus says that if a man looks at a woman lustily, he's already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matt. 5:27-28). The OT had simply said, Don't do it. Now it seems that if you so much as have the thought, you're just as guilty as if you had actually done the deed. What crap. It's actions that count, not thoughts.

Religious disputes are like arguments in a madhouse over which inmate really is Napoleon.

All the time, brother. I just treat them as brain farts but occasionally one will strike back with a shart. Our brain has evolved to the point where the subsystems collectively realize they require a moderator. That's why they made me. Wink

I am us and we is me. ... bitches.
