That depends on where you work. Many places would find "magic Woody Allen zombie superhero Komodo dragon telepathic vampire quantum hovercraft me Jesus" as offensive as any porn.

Why speak in parables?

Mark:
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:

“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. (a bit like Bucky here, and Chas)
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’[a]
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

See, Jesus is supposed to be from a royal line and these people would have lived in stone buildings and built temples, castles, walls, from stone. Or employed people to build them. Or it could be used metaphorically. I don't believe that if there was a Jesus, that he was actually either a Mason or a stone mason. I think it refers to the idea that he was from a class of people who were involved in building in stone. I don't se anything in the NT to suggest he was a carpenter.

Whether the word Tekton is used in a metaphorical sense, I have no idea, nor am I interested.

As far as his membership in the Shriners is concerned, for those who read my posts literally, I think the above passage from the NT is clear in saying that Jesus considered himself and his disciples to be able to understand things (see and hear) which others could not.

I think this is a lot like someone talking to a cult and realising the people in the cult can't think rationally.

But really, who care's about Jesus' stone cutting ability?

Isn't the more pressing concern how good of a co-pilot he is? I mean, where did Jesus get his driver or pilot license? Who tested and certified him to operate any such vehicles? Consider

Who started this stupid thread? Neither term has any meaning in relation to people living in Palestine two millennia ago. Why not ask if Siddhartha Gautama, who's said to be the twenty-fifth "buddha" and, therefore, very possibly as fictional as Jeebas, may have also been a Mason or one of the "Illuminati"? Was Lao Tze involved in the attack on the Twin Towers? Are my goldfish neo-cons?

Not sure. My dog was gone for a while today, probably giving a speech to Wall Street.
