Isn't it easier to dig them from earth then transport em from space to earth? How are they going to do that?

No, it would be much, much harder to dig to the Earth's core.

They have a bunch of proposed ideas on asteroid mining. Some involve "capturing" an asteroid and placing it into Earth's obit, where missions can be sent out to mine it periodically. This then brings up legal issues of property rights in space.

If I "capture" an asteroid, and you send up a ship and park on my asteroid, do you have the right to mine it as well, or does it "belong" to me exclusively? Can we own space?
