Way to go Roger
I don't know if this is real or not, but you never know with Waters.
Kicking off his 2017 World Tour in Kansas City. Apparently some angry trump supporters walked out after seeing this.

RE: Way to go Roger
On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won't understand
"Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others' suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in
The turning away".

It's a sin that somehow
Light is changing to shadow
And casting its shroud
Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that we're all alone
In the dream of the proud.

-Pink Floyd

I'm glad it happened in my city. Smile

Not trying to start a holy war or anything, but in terms of... well, everything, music, lyrics, concepts, everything Pink Floyd are head and shoulders above everyone else. There really is no one that quite compares or comes close to them.

I might've had a tiny crush-let on Bob Geldof as a teen Blush

And I *loved* this one at uni. No, I wasn't considering snapping and going on a rampage Dodgy

I love that song! Have you heard Tori Amos' version?

RE: Way to go Roger
If I didn't know the original, I might have enjoyed but it's... too different and lacks the slightly unhinged energy of the original (at least to my ears and more than slightly unhinged brain Rolleyes )

Reminds me of the the complaints of youtubers against the cover version of this song by the great Nino Rota (who is the author of one of my all-time favourite quotes: "How can we be happy amid the unhappiness of others?"). It's called Enraged Song, and people complain that the cover is not angry at all. But I prefer the cover (don't much care for that lady's voice, really)

That is awesome.

I really wonder what reaction he will get across the country. I saw some footage from concertgoers and was really surprised at the screaming/applause at the 'trump eres un pendejo' message. I would have expected booing from a decidedly red state.

RE: Way to go Roger
Kansas City is a city.

Red states are really about how much rural area they have, compared to how much urban. (Exceptions are wealthy suburbs like those in Johnson County, KS.)

If you look up a map of Missouri by what counties voted for whom, I think you'll see what I mean.
