What is "wrong" with that text? Are the atheists adequate readers?

It's a good idea to read the entire passage for proper reading comprehension of said passage. Smartass In previous sentences, God is talking about what he will do if people do not obey him. Deuteronomy is talking about curses for disobedience. God will send plagues and war--which will result in starvation and the eating of children--as a result of God's action.

Same thing in Jeremiah 19
"And I [god] will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them."

Atheism: it's not just for communists any more!

Look the parable:

The mother of Adolf Hitler is innocent. Correct?

Analogy fail. Hitler's mother did not cause Hitler to eat anyone for disobeying her.

Look the parable:

The mother of Adolf Hitler is innocent. Correct?

Trying to change the subject?

Where in the bible does it explicitly forbid cannibalism?

There's only one truthful answer to this, and you're proving that you're a liar every time you refuse to state that answer.

Is cannibalism really stupid though? The Donner party surely would have starved to death, as would the Andes snowcrash survivors, had they not resorted to cannibalism as a last ditch effort to survive. If they followed the idea of not eating a human--they would have all perished.

Edible land animals have split hooves and chew their cud. Anything without both of those characteristics is therefore non-kosher and should not be consumed. By Jews.

Still can't answer it, huh? Try wiggling a bit more. Maybe you could try to move the goalposts.
