Really? A guardian? And you think this would be enough?

Not saying that this alone would be enough, but they have an adult who is raising them as their child to be the guardian. After they reach the age of 18, they are an adult and make their own decisions.

And what if he/she doesn't have the capability to make such a decision?

A little insecure, but is still doing pretty well.

Anatomically, there should be no reason they would be unable to do so. They are a subspecies of Homo sapiens, not a new species entirely. Their brain is larger than the brain size of their contemporary modern humans. They should be more than capable.

If not, then they are basically just an animal and it is no different than breeding any other animal. I highly doubt this is really the case though.

No way of knowing, though, is there? Which is why no society in its right mind would agree to it any time in the foreseeable future.

Have quoted this before and will do it again: "Science has made us gods even before we are worthy of being men.", Jean Rostand.

Really. If you (general you) view living beings as things you can do whatever you want to, there's something wrong with you.

Child-rearing is one big social experiment. How my wife and I raise our son is different than our parents in some respects and the same in others. Why? Because we want to try and see if we can raise a human that is superior to us. It is just one big experiment that we invest a ton of time and effort in and will never give up on, even if it doesn't go quite the way we plan.
