RE: What Are You Currently Reading?
I'm taking a break from the Catalhoyuk book to read Frankenstein (1818). It's a Bantam Classics paperback edition from 1991. I initially wasn't a big fan of the collected letters format, but it's starting to grow on me.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Just finished Neil DeGrasse Tyson's new Astrophysics for People in a Hurry - I loved it, astrophysics blows my mind!

I've just started reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins for the first time.

Sin Bravely by Maggie Rowe. I heard about it on Hemant Mehta's podcast and it struck me as interesting sounding. It's actually a pretty short book all said, but took about a week to get through because it was so...easy to relate to. She talks about being anxious all the time about whether her salvation was real or not, saying the Sinner's Prayer again and again. She ends up in an Evangelical Psych Facility which is...horrifying. The person in charge of her therapy accuses her of being a bulimic lesbian in denial and wants her to snap a rubber band against her wrist against "bad thoughts".

Need to think of a witty signature.

Cervantes, Don Quijote (Burton Raffel translation). I can't believe it took me this long to get around to reading this. It's wonderful. I can see that Mark Twain (one of my favorite writers) was influenced by this.
