Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

RE: What Are You Currently Reading?
Ken Ham's "Already Gone". It's bad enough I almost want to write about it to vent. x.x Edit: Was telling a friend about it and she said, "[Shai], you said two things bugged you in the stats portion. Two. Not Seven."

Need to think of a witty signature.

What Are You Currently Reading?
"Darkness at Noon" by Arthur Koestler.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

I am a bear with very little brain and long words bother me.

Don't let those gnomes and their illusions get you down. They're just gnomes and illusions.

RE: What Are You Currently Reading?
Just got around to reading Pearl Buck's The Good Earth. I liked it. Waiting now for my library to get me a copy of the second book of the trilogy The Sons. In the meantime I'm reading a book a friend gave me recently called Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness. Some interesting ideas and I liked the chapter about the evolution of single celled creatures into multicellular animals.

“Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly;
Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.”

― Kurt Vonnegut, Cat's Cradle

It was extremely dry, and I had to force myself through a few of the chapters, but it made good sense to me in terms of a different way to think about Russia and Putin.
