We are nothing compared to our Sun. Jupiter has nothing on0 the Sun either.

Our sun is NOTHING compared to R136a1, the huge blue thing which does not fit on the image.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

That's a really inaccurate visual representation as far as scale preservation goes.

This is our sun in comparison with the red hypergiant VY Canis Majoris.

Both R136a1 and NML Cygni are even bigger than this. My mind cannot even begin to really comprehend an object of this size. Shocking

People who have seen the first Naked Gun film may remember this scene where Frank says "having your nuts bit off by a Laplander" was one way he would like to die (the other two being a parachute not opening and getting caught in the gears of a combine):

Well, I just learned what a Laplander is. They are an indigenous people native to extreme northern Europe, and it turns out the nut biting thing is real. The part where the girl does her thing starts out like many porns I've seen: step 1) smile; step 2) insert balls into mouth. The smiling before the biting is a bit freaky:

A lot about the supercontinents: Vaalbara, Ur, Kenorland, Columbia, Rodinia (whose name comes from the Slavic word for motherland), Pannotia and Pangaea. Turns out, there have been more supercontinents that I knew about. Oh well, better late than never, I guess...

RE: What Did You Learn Today?
I learned something very surprising today.

Apparently my biology teacher (by his own admission) does not believe in evolution, which of course is the topic my class is starting this week.

just what I needed this year: An internal struggle between being lazy and cautiously checking everything my teacher teaches..
