What Did You Learn Today?
That even a fancy Orange County gourmet food truck can't beat my wife's pulled pork and cold slaw.

RE: What Did You Learn Today?
Ambien and booze do not mix well. My colleague who I was on travel with called my wife at 0700 this AM asking "Hi Sue, this is Pete. Do you know where Bob is?" "I don't know, he's supposed to be with you." Dude found me curled up in a ball in my skivvies in the hotel hallway happily snoring away outside of somebody else's room. All I could think to say was, "Did you get a picture?"

Oh, Earmuffs.

You're so slow with the local news.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

I learned that men can feel simulated childbirth pain.

I learned my daughter and I have nearly identical taste in music, regardless of genre or era.

So many cats, so few good recipes.

RE: What Did You Learn Today?
Jean-Baptiste Lamark (1744 – 1829), the French naturalist who believed offspring could inherit the traits acquired by their parents over their lifetime, was the first to propose that humans had evolved from apes:

Quote:If some race of quadrumanous [four-handed] animals, especially one of the most perfect of them, were to lose, by force of circumstances or some other cause, the habit of climbing in trees and grasping branches...and if the individuals of this race were forced for a series of generations to use their feet only for walking, and to give up using their hands like feet...these quadrumanous animals would at length be transformed into bimanous, and the thumbs of their feet would cease to be separated from the other digits (quoted in de Wall, The Bonobo and the Atheist, p. 59)

This is obviously long before Darwin published his works.
