I learned that Foundation Beyond Belief has a peace corps for non-believers. How cool is that?

Lucky you with your learning!

I learned that the Occupy movement is still active in my city. I'm going to meet some of them tonight.

That's even cooler. Thumbsup

Today I learned "fracking" has nothing to do Battlestar Galactica. Weeping

And last night I learned Ferdi has an adorable accent.

Wind's in the east, a mist coming in
Like something is brewing and about to begin
Can't put my finger on what lies in store
but I feel what's to happen has happened before...

RE: What Did You Learn Today?
I learned the etymology of the racial slur "Kike." I rightly guessed that it was Yiddish, but I didn't know its actual background. It all started when immigrants were filing into America through Ellis Island. Those who were illiterate were asked to sign their names with an 'X'; however, the Jews among did not want to do this since it reminded them of the cross (and the centuries of harassment at the hands of Christians). They instead opted to sign with a circle. The Yiddish word for circle is "kikel." The paper pushers on Ellis Island eventually caught wind of this and started referring to anyone who signed with an 'O' a "kike."

Human cells are able to identify and destroy viruses that have penetrated the cell membrane if those viruses are carrying identifying antibodies[1].

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

I learned that Hitler bypassed the ban on German military training set forth by the Treaty of Versailles by starting a sports program that just so happened to teach young men how to shoot guns on top of calisthenics and track and field events.
