Just because one mma fighter can take down a larger man does not mean that I am an mma fighter. What hollywood do you live in?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! First, don't say I live in hollywood, than say that six bullets can stop six thugs without any of them missing and stopping all of them without them getting a adrenaline rush to strike. Second, they teach people in basic martial arts to fight multiple people. It ain't a hollywood thing.

RE: What Is Your Opinion Of Gunowners?
Let me be very clear: it is not MY responsibility to bring down an assailant in a way that does not end their life.

Let me say it again.

It is not my responsibility to bring down a person that intends to do me harm in a way that protects their life.

I am NOT trained in martial arts. I cannot fight. I will not fight. I am 5 Feet and 135 lbs. i have no delusion that I would win any hand 2 hand combat.

The difference of my life and theirs is that they will not get close enough to me to hurt me.

I'm a trained shooter. A 9 mm to the heart or lung won't leave you the ability to move.

Hollywood is assuming that someone shot would be able to get back up. You're wrong.

But having more exceptions than the rule? This happens a lot more than the rule has it.

Among people trained in martial arts. That is very few people.

Where did you train? How many martial arts did you take? Do you have confidence to show your skills in martial arts? When was the last time you used it or trained with it? And when one does not work you move on to more powerful ones. Krav maga for example.

Oh, give it up. You are not the least bit realistic about this.

Wrong. Size=/= strength.

I didn't say it did.

Quote:I am said to be big and I meet someone skinny and small that is said to have bull strength. You also won't believe how many people beat more that one person. It happens A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT. Hell they teach that in martial arts classes. Also it is more that just immediate. It is patience and timing as well, both which you learn.

You keep going on with the exceptions.

So the part about ambushing was ignored. A psycho would strike close range right there, and they are fast. Guns can't get you out of a chock hold.

Oh, bullshit. Would you like to test your assertion?

Carry on with your fantasy that people have the health, fitness, and time to be proficient at martial arts. Very few do.

Oh, but she will be able to stop them with martial arts? Only in the movies.

RE: What Is Your Opinion Of Gunowners?
Here is the Thing: in the moment- you can't fight. Your brain will not communicate to your body what is happening.

The dog that mauled me, I stared dumbfoundedly at what was happening because my brain would not process the info I was seeing.
If I'm taken by surprise - and it only takes seconds - I will not be able to use my gun.

But

Given more than a few seconds and I will.
The difference is my life. No mma fighting would help me

So you are not going to answer my question about your martial arts training?

Unless you meant training as weight, strength, and reach as training, and small and weak as lack of training, how else should some one take it. Explain what you mean?

Yeah because when people tell me they did it, when martial artist are taught this, and the ones that don't use it are never in that situation. Yeah, so I am guessing if out of most martial artist that do it succeed and the most others don't and little fail it is only an exception.

Sure we can test it. On where they attack close range with a gun only, and one close range with martial arts only. 10-5 five feet, maybe closer, with the gun concealed carried.

Right I keep forgetting I live in america, and that fitness is near illegal here.

RE: What Is Your Opinion Of Gunowners?
Hahahah. I'm sorry, but an assailant can close a distance of 15 feet in less than 2 seconds.

I would never let them get that close.
