What animals has your cat brought home?
I just saw the pic Szuchow posted:

http://www.thethinkingatheist.com/forum/...#pid876482

And thought "Or you can move to the countryside with your cats, where they spend most of their time outside, only come in to cuddle and cause hardly any of the problems your pic mentions................................. except there is the new problem of all the dead animals they bring home" Which is one of the ssingle most annoying things about having a cat on the countryside. Cleaning up the corpses. Eventhough it can be fascinating to get a little insight in your surrounding nature.

So. What dead animals has your cat brought home? Mine:

Mine brought home a baby squirrel once. He was still alive, but hurt and bleeding. I picked him up with work gloves and put him in a shoebox and brought him to my vet, who is a friend of mine to get fixed up. My current cat doesn't go outside because I lived in the city before moving out country, so he's not used to being outside. I have a greenhouse off of my house that he likes to play in and look outside. That seems to make him happy and be enough for him Wink

The things mine brings home are usualy in a very agressive and agitated state. getting biten by a rat is extremly painfull.

But worst of all are the birds. Because I love birds and it hurts watching them slowly die, luckily in most cases they are well enought to fly off again or recover quickly.

My cats are too old to bring anything home except vet bills now, but when they were younger they brought home birds and mice. They also brought several bugs like praying mantis and big old beetles in the house. Ick.

My older male cat, Figaro, used to chase dogs, big or small, down the street. He also tried to chase squirrels around in our backyard maple tree but he fell and broke his pelvis bone. He walks sort of crooked but gets around ok. He's a special needs cat now.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

bats

Damnit (our cat) brings home bats. Facepalm
Just to show off. She has the manners to leave them on the steps.

I had a cat that I swore was part mountain lion. He was 25+ pounds, not fat, very lean.

Fucker used to bring home full grown rabbits and groundhogs.

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

My neighbor's cat brings me mice. Like in my room. I regret saving the cat now.

I don't really like going outside.
It's too damn "peopley" out there....

RE: What animals has your cat brought home?
Most of my cats have been pansies. I did have one particularly bloodthirsty cat as a teenager, though. He was about 25 pounds of pure muscle, probably should have had a tattoo that said "not child friendly," and killed fucking everything. The day I saw him take on a raccoon I'll admit I was nervous. He also sent our dog to the vet once to get stitches on his face. That was the last time the dog stuck his head under the chair to check out the kitty's secret hiding spot.

My cats now have tried, and failed, to kill a cricket. One of them is sitting on my bed now nursing on her own toes. Mother issues I guess.

My forever kitty spunky never gave us any gifts like that. But he was an indoor kitty.

He'd make this weird sound tho at flies. But if he caught one, he'd eat it.
