I take genesis 1, theorizing "God created"

YOU take the big bang and string

Do you support the idea that the earth is only about 6000 years old? Because if you want I'll demolish you on that one.

Hate the belief, love the believer.

Careful, he might start demanding that you provide historical data on Alexander the Great!

That's hardly going to make things better for you! Make no mistake, it would be lovely to witness, but I would hate to see you put yourself through such searing intellectual pain and existential terror as a "debate" with our ol' beloved OP here would engender.

I'm interested in you opinions regarding "feelings" and "emotion". What are they and why do we experience them? What makes someone jump with fear, or embrace with love, or strike with hatred?

Thank you!

I feel that your feelings and/or emotional responses are controlled by your perceptions of everything. Why we have feelings/emotions is for survival purposes. They are basic primal instinctual tools to survive and procreate.

We always have to remember we are smarter than the average (hairless ape) and considering we are still only moments away from the caves (evolutionary time scale) we have the challenge of managing our primal instincts in a positive way. Until we evolve further away from these emotional primal instincts and closer to logic we will continue being challenged by them.
