RE: What are you playing?
How do people stand watching people play games on twitch or youtube?
I'm watching a dude called Day9 play Tyranny. The games not out and Im pretty hyped for it and he is the only youtuber given a copy before release so I have to watch him if I wanna see the gameplay. Anyway, it's so fucking painful because he's so fucking cabbage. Like walking across obvious fucking traps. Comparing items while having the wrong character selected (so he'll compare to sage's colf while having the tank selected and wonder why it's saying it's way worst.. BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR SAGE SELECTED RETARD!). Not levelling up for ages. Ignoring his magic character being backstabbed by an enemy resulting in the mages death. Walking around trying to figure out where to go when it's so fucking obvious. Shit like this.

When other people in this world play video games do people only ever look at 5% of the screen at a time?
And why do people watch twitch streamers? They fucking suck. It's so painful. It reminds me of when Arumba was playing Stellaris before release.. *groan*

edit: "arrg why did I run into range?" he says as he uses a spell that he created that has absolutely zero range (meaning you have to melee hit them with it).
Because you dumb fuck, you claim you read every tooltip but you obviously fucking don't because you clearly didn't take note of the "Range: 1m" when creating that fucking spell.
Why are you so fucking retarded!? Paradox, please stop giving early access to retards. PLEASE!
OMG, he literally mouses over hidden lootables, they light up blue and he doesn't see them. Omg... please.. just stop the madness.

I did for a minute waiting for No Man's Sky, and it was like; give me that controller you fucking idiot. So, that's pretty much that. Cool

...and 18 hours of Cities over the past two days. Up to 47k minions and 4 million bucks. Wink

It's a great game right? Best city builder I've ever played that's for sure and that includes Sim City 4 which was fucking amazing.

I haven't played in a couple days, might work on my city after work.

Still playing Rimworld. Almost feel sorry for my little pawns living out in the desert inside a granite fortress, fighting off bloodthirsty bandits and robots every week. Well, at least they have television and a pool table.

RE: What are you playing?
They released Star Trek Online for XBox (also PS4).

I am so addicted.

It takes place 30 years after Star Trek: Voyager. You can play as Federation, Klingon, or Romulan Republic (a "good guys" split-off from the Romulan Empire, in the wake of the destruction of Romulus), and make your character any of the races that are within those major empires-- Vulcan, Gorn, Orion, Andorian, etc. You can heavily customize your appearance, from every element of your costume to what gear you have strapped to your wrists/arms/etc, to your posture, face, and body.

I'm mainly running a Federation Luna-class Science Vessel, which I named the U.S.S. Jane Goodall... it's quick and has tough shields, and I can make singularity Gravity Wells and a host of other nasty effects with my deflector array, and in general make a nuisance of myself among enemy formations... but I also have a Romulan escort/attack Warbird and a Klingon Bird of Prey that are more fun than a barrel of Mugatus.

As a Fed, you start out in a Miranda-class light cruiser (the Reliant from the movie Wrath of Khan), and can get a free starship every tenth level you earn. You next move to the Constitution-class (Enterprise-A from the original ST films), if you want to go up the "cruiser" line (you can also choose a Science vessel or an Escort vessel), then a Cheyenne-class Heavy Cruiser (one of which was the Stargazer, Picard's ship before he took over on the Enterprise-D), then a Galaxy-class Exploration Cruiser (e.g. Enterprise-D), and finally a Sovereign-class Assault Cruiser (Enterprise-E, from the most recent ST: TNG films). Going up the Escort vessel line gets you a chance to pilot the Defiant class and the Intrepid class (Voyager), while the Science vessels let you pilot both Beverly Crusher's Olympic-class (U.S.S. Pasteur, from the TNG episode "All Good Things") and the ship I'm currently driving, which is the Luna-class vessel, which Riker captained (U.S.S. Titan). Likewise, the free ships of the Klingon and Romulan lines follow the iconic vessels from the movies/TV shows.

But those are just the free ships. If you're willing to pay for others, it has every ship that has ever appeared in the ST series, from Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Assault Carriers to the ships from the new Trek film reboots (called "Kelvin Timeline" ships). Free or paid, you can customize your ship at almost every level (equipment, weaponry, paint, and even various nacelles and hull shapes, etc., if there are variants of the class) and lets you play through so many familiar (from the shows/movies) scenarios-- they even got most of the cast of Star Trek: Voyager to voice the big expansion pack, taking you into the Delta Quadrant. You have to acquire and maintain crew members, whose abilities and foci heavily impact how your ship performs and how your ground combat goes. And the final-levels stories, in which you combat an ancient race of energy beings that fancies itself gods and wants to wipe us out in order to re-subjugate all "lesser" species, is phenomenally written. In fact, far more than the ships, it's the stories that I love about this game. And they're still expanding it.

It has been on PC for a few years, now, but I love that it's free to download and play and really treats the ST universe with an accurate approach. Sorry for the long writeup, but I'm totally geeking out about this.

If you are at all a fan of Star Trek and videogames, I highly recommend you try this, either on Console or PC.

RE: What are you playing?
Goddamn Randy Random suddenly went nuts and is trying to kill me. Raid, raid, mechanoids, infestation, psychic mechanoid ship, mechanoids, and now another raid. Haven't lost anyone during any of this though. Hurting the morale of some of my less stable colonists though.
