In Black Desert, my weeks of afk fishing have paid off. Spent four hours last night grinding skellies. Included some caps to show I actually do stuff in this game other than play dress up.

I really don't know why more people don't play that game. Confused

Well- was looking at it last night with my wife as we were looking for a new MMO to play together. We've already tried everything we were actually interested in.

We both agreed that this game didn't look like much more than just softcore porn spank bank material. Undecided

I mean, the outfits are just fucking ridiculous for women. So, in our case- it's an immediate turn-off. No

One of the same reasons we skipped Lineage 2 back in the day, and pretty much anything from NC Soft.

This game look pretty great. Is it PS4 exclusive?

No it's on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I wouldn't recommend buying for the PC since there are a lot of people that have already written codes in the game that allows for cheating. No so with the console versions.

I know in that game footage it looks like mayhem and pure chaos but there is a subtle nuance to the game that you must learn (and there is a steep learning curve). Go into a 1v1 duel and you will understand. The game mode in the video is called Dominion and is a 4v4 game mode. Whoever holds the most territory (A, B, and C zones) wins. The NPC soldiers that fight in "B" are there to either push back or foward so that is where a lot of the combat takes place. Push their soldiers back to allow your soldiers to move forward and you capture that zone and vice versa.

I personally like that time period and this is one of the first PvP games that isn't just a hack and slash. If you go in with that mindset you will get destroyed. You need to decide when is the best time to engage and there is no shame in disengaging if you see that you are going to lose the engagement. Live to fight another day.

I get to decide what my life looks like, not the other way around.

It looks really fun. It's always a shame to see the PC versions ruined by hackers. I much prefer PC than console. The only current console we have at home now is the WiiU. I never bothered to get XBONE or PS4 since I was able to convince my brother and cousin to move over to PC gaming.

That's kind of the mindset I take when I play anything in the Dark Souls family. Was able to get through DS1 and NG+, and DS3. I haven't put much time into DS2 yet, though. There is often a good amount of running away necessary in those games Laugh out load.

Anyway, good video, and great gameplay! I might have seen FrankieOnPC do a video on this game, it looks familiar and I think I remember him talking about some of the moves.

RE: What are you playing?
Finished Torment: Tides of Numenera. Ending is quite unexpected, or maybe I'm just bad at reading hints.

I went with talky route, as I chosen Jack - silver tongued rogue* as my class and I must say that I don't think that others that is fighter and mage will be able to favorably compare with combat being, well maybe not utter shit but boring and unsatisfying. Companions aren't bad but there isn't that much interaction with them; I ended with party that loved me but I can't really say for what.

Tides are interesting concept but I didn't see them having much influence at anything.

Overall it is good game, that merit second play-through, but it isn't messiah that will be salvation of RPG genre.

*One can play as warrior rogue I guess.

I agree. But being the code for the client side is usually easy enough for anyone with decent computer skills to crack it usually doesn't take very long for someone to ruin it on the PC gaming side of things. It's much harder to do this on consoles but it can be done (use of lag switches in Destiny as an example). The issue with For Honor (along with a lot of online games) is it is a peer to peer connection based game. Rather than run dedicated servers (which obviously costs more money) game maker's these days tend to go peer to peer connections which in turn makes it easier for someone wishing to cheat the system.

I love the Dark Souls series. One of the reasons that I like them (along with Bloodborn) is the time period and the games are extremely hard. If you get killed it's on you. The game didn't cheat you, you just didn't time your moves etc... correctly. But that's what made that series fun to me. Once you did finally beat that boss it gave you a sense of accomplishment.

Assuming, of course, that you can get to the boss. Not everyone cares enough to put up with insta-kill death traps and surprise attacks, especially when the penalty for death is so harsh. Sure, it feels great to beat the boss; but it's frustrating as hell to get anywhere close. Nothing like losing 45 minutes worth of progress because you made one mistake and got stun-locked into a unblockable 5-hit combo that means instant death.

Yeah, Dark Souls 3 can still go fuck itself. Monster Hunter at least has the decency to scale up at a reasonable pace, and have a bit of fun and levity while you do it.

Yes, I am still bitter about it. Dodgy

Why do you quote a post on FO4 when talking about MMOs?

Lol... I couldn't tell. No really I understand what you're talking about. The game is extremely hard and has made me want to through the controller through the window. Granted the game isn't for everyone.

How fucking dare you. You can fuck off and die. Dark Souls is a fucking gaming masterpiece and anyone that says otherwise deserves to be skinned alive, slowly.

As a frequent player and fan of the DS series, I'd say both of you are on extremes here...
