I really don't get the love for it...

It's a strategy/god game, it feeds into those with a combination of creativity and the desire to control.

One thing's for sure, it's more intellectually stimulating than having a 10 year old scream racist obscenities into your ear while he tea-bags your corpse over Xbox Live...

... I know what it is. Dodgy

Just, after watching game play of it, I don't really see the draw.
Chances are I'm just too ingrained to the Total War side of strategy, but I don't care for what I've seen, not a bit.

Play it, you might like it.
It's a good game there's no doubt about that.

Just wish you could stop it at certain eras, that was always something that pissed me off more so because it pissed me off since Civ3 and they haven't included that feature and it's now Civ5...

From what I've played, no it's rather good actually.
I dunno why it was half off but I'm not complaining. In a year when they bring out collectors edition or whatever it wont even be that cheap.

Why? Because you can win the game without ever firing a shot in anger? Tongue

You can win Total War games without firing a single shot (or arrow) also.
It's not as easy as culture bombing your way to victory, but still...

I like city-states.

This is actually the first time I have used Ramses. I am a very warlike leader, so I usually go with one of the better military leaders, but I wanted to try something different. Creating a cultural powerhouse has been fun, it's great when one of the cities in the middle of an opponent's country decides to revolt and join your country.

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.
