I'll start by stating that I've been in a state of gaming boredom. I feel as though I'm waiting for the next big thing, I suppose.

Skyrim:
Was playing Skyrim to pass the time. XBox Games Marketplace put the expansions on sale so I snatched them up. My son-in-law also gave me his copy of Skyrim since he couldn't use the disc on his new XBox One. I've been having fun with Patch 1.09 by casting Harmony in town to level Illusion through Legendary. My character is now level 98, most of that naturally. I think I added maybe 30 levels (and perks!) this way. The game changes quite a bit at much higher levels.

ESO:
I also got to play a single Beta Weekend with Elder Scrolls Online. It was not bad. I did enjoy it. But, at this point it's too soon to tell if that's due to novelty (after severe boredom) or if it has any staying power. Won't know until release in April. And even then, I'd rather not play on PC. I'm much more interested in the idea of playing an MMO on an XBox One....so I would need to buy one. I don't see that happening any time soon. We shall see.

GTAV:
GTAV Online just release the Content Generator. So far we can only make Races or Deathmatches. Meh. But, with it seems to have come some welcome tweaks to some parts of the online experience:

* Calling Pegasus to have my Buzzard chopper delivered now actually chooses the nearest helipad, not the helipad nearest my apartment. Yay! This is now more useful in missions.

* After completing a mission and being presented with the option to vote on a next mission, the players are no longer limited to non-Mission style events (like races and deathmatches). Now we may be presented with real missions to choose from. I guess R* must have noticed everyone giving up on the old voting screens and just queueing up for another mission. Good to know they're looking out for us.

* More money! Not sure if it's because I'm fairly high level (ok, 93 isn't that high), or if it's just the patch, but even some of the older missions, like some from Lamar or Gerals, are now paying a LOT more than they did before. Missions I was sure only paid about $500 are now paying me as much as $6K along with a LOT more RP. This makes it easy to just keep chaining missions and be sure I still make good money without having to discard mission invites. Yay!

Also, HOLY CRAP, some person who joined me for a mission was friggin level 763! WTH?? AND they got the full amount of money for the mission, something that's only supposed to happen if the player has never run that mission before. Strange things are afoot at the GTA.

Starbound:
My son, daughter and daughter's boyfriend are also playing Starbound. It'd be nice if we could play together, but AFAIK multiplayer is still not working 100%. The small amount I've been able to play (my laptop's dead, have to bum my daughter's) has been fun. Looks to be a nice game to play if you enjoyed Terraria and were hoping for a sequel or expansion.

LA Noire:
For a very brief couple nights I was inspired to play L.A. Noire (because I was rummaging through my games and found it). This didn't last. I totally suck at that game. Firefights and driving are great. Interrogating is apparently not my bag.

Diablo3:
Haven't really been playing this since my laptop died. I did try the Xbox demo though. I was worried about how a mouse driven game would even work on a console. I have to say I'm impressed. They handled the transition wuite well (hey, it's Blizzard). Very smooth and intuitive. If I wanted to spend $60 on a game I already own on other platforms, I'd be right on top of that. Alas, I am not a person of great means.

Haven't played WoW in forever now. I feel "done" but, who am I kidding, I've felt "done" the other 7-8 times I stopped playing. We shall see if this next expansion will be enough to inspire.

That's it for now.

Skyrim for the umpteenth time. I go round and round, make a mage, run ti through the game and all expansions, then start a new character, ranger, rinse and repeat, then make a melee over and over, but I only play when I have duty, and have never played it online.

At home as a time killer, I ...oh god am I going to admit this? play runescape. My son got me into it 9 yrs ago, and I thought it would be something we could do together, he moved onto the next shiney new bauble, and I kept at it, character name Lord Krohn...in fact I am playing it right now on my off day before i go hit the gym lol. someone help me..Laughat

Runescape has ruined many lives. Get out while you still can. Run. Escape!! My level 110 character hasn't been touched for years, thank goodness.

I know right? I only play when the wife is busy doing homework, and there is nothing on tv...so hard to break the habit...after investing over 400 mil xp into a character ugh

I guess I should clarify that that was my combat level. I forgot my combined level. But yeah I know what you mean. I used to use travel breaks or bank trips in RS as opportunities to do my HW in HS and early college. My roommate used to make fun of me haha. I quit when the dragon full helmet was released. I got one to drop from a mithril dragon (I think) and then sold it for 50 million and all of a sudden I was like...eff this game haha. So I stopped.

I know how hard it is to get a 99, so I can imagine how much you have played Weeping

At least skyrim is more or less finite haha.

Always nice to see a new Vita owner. The more of us there are, the more decent games the system will get.

I blew through Toy Story Mania earlier this week for a quick platinum trophy, and I'm about to boot up PlayStation Move Fitness.

I love it, just like I loved Metro 2033.

The game manages to beat the problem that all first person shooters have to day: the endlessly repeating game design.

It just feel completly different than any other shooter out there and is very unike.

Other than that it is a fantastic game made out of a low budget.

I really recomend it, but have to say !SPOILER!:

The end is shit.

Yeah, I got it too. The Russians and Ukrainians (with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series) can make some pretty wicked indie games. Their grasp of the concept of atmosphere is unmatched. I still go back and play Stalker sometimes, just to remember.

I'm enjoying Last Light also, but damn there's a lot of bugs on the Mac version!
