What causes religion ?
Are religious people more suggestible than non-religious people ?

If you know of good studies about this, it might be interesting to see them. We can put this in the resource thread.

"The Believing Brain" by Dr. Michael Shermer is a great source of info on this.

RE: What causes religion ?
"Religion" is the innate appeal towards higher authority, and for social acceptance.

Keep in mind, the question of 'what causes religion' is different from 'what causes spirituality/belief/mysticism, etc' which are caused by other innate appeals.

Religion talks about groups. Belief (or the other terms mentioned) talks about the individual.
