What changes at death
I was reading a thread over at Christianforums.com and the Poster was asking what was more tragic, a person dying young or a person who lives a whole life without ever accepting Jesus. He thought that both were tragic but the 80 year old dying without Jesus was the more tragic. I wonder what it is that changes at the moment of death. Does our biological body have free will and our soul doesn't? Once we die and can actually meet Jesus, it's too late. Five seconds before lights out you can accept Jesus and you are golden but not after. It is amazing that anyone believes this stuff.

Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. - Ayn Rand.

Don't sacrifice for me, live for yourself! - Me

The only alternative to Objectivism is some form of Subjectivism. - Dawson Bethrick

That takes away the fear factor that charlatans have used to profit off the herd for millennia.

RE: What changes at death
It's a belief system. I task you with a logical explanation that coherently describes the "system" part of it. It comes down to salesmanship.

Even the name "belief system" is a sham. It goes downhill from there.

People are simply told there's a immortal loophole and who would mess with that? It's golden. Does anyone really believe people have a genuine love of the jesus character sufficient to earn themselves private rooms in one of his eternal suites? Do people who profess that devotion actually think others buy into their (feigned) sincerity?

No to both questions. But, the story is really driven home by certain skilled tacticians creating true believers. The guy in your account who makes the contrast is one of them. He's been indoctrinated and the story is just too good to repudiate. Dude! Did'ja here about the salvation thing?!

Yea, it's kinda tragic but you'll have that.
