What if Earth was one big city?
Is it possible? What would the effects be on weather/global warming?
How many people would that even be? How long before Earth becomes like that?

You say that, but humans have 'evolved' to live in houses and not in caves.
So we could 'evolve' (or devolve depending on your outlook) again to not live constantly surrounded by nature. People would get used to it over time.

Singapore is one big city and it works well.

There's a lot of greenery to provide oxygen (even roof gardens etc.)

But they do have to import non-essentials like timber and drinking water!

So I think that an absence of forests and oceans and fish and glaciers and stuff might be noticed.

RE: What if Earth was one big city?
With the way technology is going I doubt it will ever happen. The still increasing population of the world is fueled almost exclusively by countries with an agricultural base, while more industrialized nations would be experiencing population decline without immigration. I reckon this trend will continue as technology continues to make unskilled labor more and more impractical, negating the perceived investment in having kids whom won't be able to begin making a return on said investment until they've had like 30 years of education and on the job training. Virtual porn and sex robots that may eventually be indistinguishable from real people might also have a place in this topic as well Tongue. Thus, it would be rational to assume that the nature of a one city world would discourage the population growth necessary to fill it with people.

We'd be like Coruscant! That would be fuckin' awesome! We could establish the Jedi Counsel and have swanky cantinas.

We haven't evolved to live in houses, we've adapted to that style of life.
