What is he?
The title of this thread is not a question... rather a rhetorical one.

This is one of my favourite scenes from Star Trek: The Next Generation

It is an incredible thing to be able to feel compassion for a... machine. And in the end of the video it becomes an even greater feeling to be equal with that machine. The machine no longer continues to be an it and instead becomes a he.

RE: What is he?
A good episode.

Sentient is my answer to your rhetorical question. Earlier in the episode is Whoopi Goldberg's reference to slavery.

An excellent show. Back when story line was more important than special effects.

Edit: Just noticed that my answer is the same as the title of the video. I'll say that Data is also a cat person, that makes him ok as far as I'm concerned. Smile

The essence of life is statistical improbability on a colossal scale.

Does Data have a sou? I don't know that I have.

Watch the movie "Bicentennial Man".

Yeah... definitely one of the memorable episodes.

Quantum Physics: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I can honestly say the ending surprised me. I expected one ending, then another, then another. I was wrong about every one of them.

It's been a while since I've seen it. Time to find it and get it.

Great movie. The ending made it even better.

The SO and I have been watching Next Generation via Netflix.....

It's a great series. A little too PC occasionally, but still a great show.
