I agree with Jenny that a classy long coat would be an excellent choice. Either of the two choices you posted look great. Personally I'd go with the top one, but the pockets on the bottom one might prove useful... and it would make you look like a college professor, if worn in the way the model is wearing it. Smile

Edit to Add: If you really must get a leather jacket, try something like this...

And avoid "faux" leather. It's not very durable and looks terrible in person.

That is indeed a badass old school riding jacket.

The same thing in brown also looks good, but just make sure you have a classic UJM or some British Iron to go along with it. Thumbsup

Although this variant, with a small collar at the top that wouldn't actually bother you while riding, allows this jacket to masquerade as a normal jacket with the trappings of a vintage motorcycle jacket (zippered pockets, waist and wrist cinches, reinforced elbows).

Buying the leather isn't case of must but there is no way in which one can make coat like ones shown and Dr. Martens shoes fit together I'm afraid.

Also what about this one:

Edit: Checked sizes and measured myself. No coat would fit. Guess I have to pump some iron to enlarge chest area Wink

Power went out just before 1030 and it took about two hours for the riff-raff to realize all the security cameras and most of the alarms were down. The gunshots began around midnight, and continued until the sun came up. The sirens were endless. I have had about two hours of sleep.

According to the website that monitors such things, this outage affected a two block wide strip of downtown a couple of miles long. 49,000 customers impacted.

Leaving the power off that long almost made this a Third World Problem. That's part of why I rail so much against the structural racism in the USA that led to so many atrophied (mostly black) neighborhoods while money was pumped into others, often closely adjacent. These areas have had their desperation held in check by suppression tactics, which can vanish if the power goes down (a la Hurricane Katrina in inner city New Orleans) or if the cops get distracted or overmatched (unless they resort to militarization and literally threaten American citizens with plainly displayed belt fed weapons on armored vehicles, as in Ferguson) or if the people get more angry than they are afraid of force. More honesty and equality would go a long way toward making a power outage a First World problem, rather than quickly revealing how parts of the US have fallen to not much above Third World status.

Amen man Sad I'm on another board right now, talking about Sheriff Clarke in Milwaukee County, and how, though I despise him, his style is reflective of the structural biases in the county.* Wisconsin incarcerates more African American and Native American folks than anywhere else in the country, vouchers for religious schools exacerbate an already underfunded public school system (where many white students have fled to the private schools under the voucher program), in that public school system, African American kids are suspended at double the national average and has the largest achievement gap between white and black students in America, one in two African American males in Milwaukee County has been in prison and thus faces all the challenges of coming out of it (in addition to how the deck is already stacked against them in a structurally biased area and with racism), and Milwaukee itself is the most segregated decent sized city in America.

*Not defending him too much though. He's had people die in his jails of dehydration, had a baby die in his jail before when he refused the mother a doctor, threatened to arrest the County Executive in a spat after the Sherman Park riot last summer (and was also nearly held in contempt of court for refusing to show up to court several times after the same riot), has put out PSAs warning people to arm themselves rather than wait on law enforcement, often talks about Milwaukee as "the ghetto", and when asked about African Americans and drugs in Milwaukee said it was, "because they’re lazy, they’re uneducated and they’re morally bankrupt. How can anybody argue about that? Who would stand up and protect a drug dealer? Who would stand up and protect the reputation?". He's also had people who disagreed with him on a flight into General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, detained upon landing, by his deputies, without a warrant. Or how during the Obama administration, he tweeted out that people needed to arm themselves with torches and pitchforks over government.

Anyhow...uh...First World Problem: They're working in the office under mine and the hammering is loud and hard enough to shake my desk some.

Need to think of a witty signature.

One of the things that tells you right away what a piece of shit he is, all the stolen honor pins he wears. He decks out his sheriffs uniform with pins and tat you can get at a dollar store to make it look like he has won some kind of medal or honors. He tap dances around it when confronted claiming he is not doing what he is explicitly doing (Snopes really dropped the ball on this one by claiming it was false while showing him doing exactly this).

RE: What is your latest first world problem ?
I normally keep at least one of the crappy pens work provides for free on me in case someone asks to borrow a pen, that way they don't walk off with one of the good ones I actually use. But I didn't have a crappy pen on me, and a guy I was escorting through the facility asked to borrow one for a second so I let him borrow one of my good ones. While he was writing an emergency was called and, by the time I was finished responding to it, the guy had left.

$3.50 down the drain.

Workmen are still here (they got a late start) so been pretty much been stuck home all day. My sprinkler system is finally fixed so no more random fountain flooding activity Thumbsup Fence is still being worked on and almost finished. I thought they would be done a lil earlier 'cause it's almost 7p but I'm just glad it's being fixed and snake-proofed for rattlesnake season.

RE: What is your latest first world problem ?
Going on a flight next week to New Jersey. I can't sleep on flights or focus on much. Basically I hate flying. Also we're going to the airport after I get off work so I'll be exhausted but probably not able to sleep. At least the flight will be short. Perhaps I'll do a lot of meditating.
